Servicedesk engineer

As a service engineer you will support customers remotely to resolve hardware and software malfunctions. You are a true Sherlock when it comes to locating problems in software. You understand the world of infrastructure, internet, operating systems, (data) platforms and programming languages and you understand where and how problems can arise and are effectively able to fix them.


  • Receive, analyse and register incidents, questions and customer service requests.
  • Solve problems and set priorities.
  • Actively contribute to optimizing the IT infrastructure and communication lines for our Big Data Engineers.
  • Proactively contribute and consult with and for the customer.
  • You are the main contact for the customer.

Your profile

  • You have finished a degree in information technology or related.
  • Knowledge and preferable experience in programming languages such as: Java, Scala, Python.
  • You are able to read the stack trace out of Java applications.
  • You have experience with complex queries (joins) for the MySQL database.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience with Database technologies for example with: MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
  • You believe in the principle of ”clean coding”; you don’t just write code for yourself or a computer, but for your colleagues as well.
