Meet Anchormen: Thijs

“I always like to get to know my colleagues better, so every now and then I sit down with one of them and ask some questions. So, let’s meet Thijs!” – Eva

Hi, I’m Thijs and last February I started at Anchormen. Before I joined I had a startup company, called Whappbook. This was a tool to print online content in a hard copy book. Begining of this year, Anchormen offered me the opportunity to work at their new business unit and help them to grow and build the High Potential Program. There was a really good vibe when I first met Anchormen, I was excited to work together with my future colleagues and make this business unit to a success!

My main responsibility is the operational side of the High Potential Program, but I have a lot of different tasks, like organizing trainings, working on HR issues, thinking about branding and marketing content and working closely together with my colleagues to continuously improve the traineeship. The High Potential Program is always in development so I am constantly challenging myself to make the right steps with the program. This makes my job here at Anchormen very divers and a lot of fun.

Each morning, I start my day with a 25-minute bicycle ride to the office. I live in the city center of Amsterdam, so it’s a nice ride to wake up and start the day fresh. My goal is to learn more about the cool projects we’re doing at Anchormen and to use this knowledge in my daily activities and improve the High Potential Program wherever it’s possible.

In the evenings and weekends I like to do some sports, like football, tennis, golf and skiing in winter time. During the summer holidays, I’m part of the Anchormen Footy Team together with several other colleagues. We’re not the best performing team, but it’s always a lot of fun. You can follow our progress here.
