Meet Anchormen: Andrada

“I always like to get to know my colleagues better, so every now and then I sit down with one of them and ask some questions. So, let’s meet Andrada!” – Eva

Hello, everyone! My name is Andrada Băcăoanu, I recently joined the Anchormen team as a Project Manager and I’m very excited to tell you something about myself and my work here.

I was born and raised in Romania but I’ve been living in the Netherlands for a little over five years; I recently started picking up the language as well, so my next interview might be in Dutch!

Back home I did my Bachelors in International Relations but I always felt like something was missing so I moved to Leiden where I did a Masters in IT & Business. For my research thesis, I lived in Munich at a Military Academy and wrote a research paper about STEEP-M: a risk analysis framework for e-Participation projects, which you can find here.

After my graduation, I had a 2-year traineeship at Eneco in Rotterdam. The program was kind of unique because every 8 months you were supposed to switch departments and work on a totally different project, while at the same time following personal development trainings. This way I started to learn who I am and what gives me energy in my professional life, thus the search for a Project Management position.

By working for Anchormen, I am able to combine project management with consultancy, a fascinating industry for me because of its fast pace and steep learning curve. As one of the Project Managers, I get to work with some of the smartest people in the field on amazing projects. Moreover, I believe A.I. and Big Data are the future and I like that Anchormen is working on helping organizations realize that potential.

I guess this is the part where I say something about myself. In my free time, I like to travel and I also do CrossFit. I’ve actually started recruiting some of my colleagues for training sessions, so now you know – if we’re not activating your data, we’re hitting the gym!
